2004 Highlights and Photos

The engineers, mixers, sound editors and other talented audio professionals delivering sound for The Lord of the Rings, and Radiohead's most recent album and tour were among the many winners at the 20th Annual Technical Excellence & Creativity Awards, held Saturday, October 30 at the San Francisco Marriott.

In addition to 23 awards for Technical and Creative Achievement, the gathering of the pro audio industry's finest creative talents witnessed the induction into the TEC Awards Hall of Fame of visionary filmmaker George Lucas and venerated producer/engineer Elliot Scheiner. Multiple-Oscar-winning film editor and sound designer Walter Murch presented the Hall of Fame Award to Lucas, and Scheiner was awarded by Steely Dan's Walter Becker. In a surprise appearance, multi-talented recording artist Janet Jackson presented The Les Paul Award to platinum producers Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis. For a complete list of winners click here.
