NAMM TEC Awards Celebrates 30 Years.
The 30th Annual NAMM Technical Excellence & Creativity Awards show will be held Saturday, January 24 in Anaheim, California during The 2015 NAMM Show. Presented by The NAMM Foundation, this prestigious awards ceremony was created to recognize the individuals, companies and technical innovations behind the sound of recordings, live performances, films, television, video games, and other media. Tickets for the general public will be made available in November.


Nominees for Outstanding Technical Achievement Announced
Created in recognition of innovative product design, Outstanding Technical Achievement has twenty-two categories that include Studio Monitors, Recording Devices, Computer Audio Hardware, Workstation Technology and more. Several companies, such as Cakewalk, PreSonus, Shure and Audio-Technica, have received multiple nominations. New in 2015 for Outstanding Technical Achievement is a separate category for Signal Processing Hardware (500 Series Modules).

Nominees for Outstanding Creative Achievement Announced
Nominees for Outstanding Creative Achievement include production teams for Lady Gaga & Tony Bennett’s “Anything Goes,” Justin Timberlake’s “Not a Bad Thing,” Jack White’s Lazaretto album and more. Sound production nominees in TV and film range from Captain America’s sound production team to creatives behind the remote production of the Back to Front: Peter Gabriel Live in London DVD. Eight categories will include Film Sound Production, Interactive Entertainment Sound Production, Studio Design Project and Tour/Event Sound Production and more.



NAMM TEC Awards Inducts Nathan East and Ed Cherney Into Its Hall of Fame
The NAMM Foundation will induct revered engineer-mixologist Ed Cherney and renowned bass player Nathan East into the NAMM TEC Awards Hall of Fame during the 30th Annual NAMM Technical Excellence & Creativity Awards show. East has worked with legendary musicians from the full spectrum of musical genres including Daft Punk, Eric Clapton, George Harrison, Beyoncé, Phil Collins, Michael Jackson and Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli. GRAMMY Award-winning instincts make Cherney one of the most sought-after audio engineers in the business. Learn more about the inductees.


Pro Audio Luminaries Speak at The H.O.T. Zone
The H.O.T. Zone at The NAMM Show will feature 70+ sessions for pro audio, sound and entertainment technology professionals, presented by guest speakers including Craig Anderton, Ed Cherney, Matt Forger, Don Was, Dave Pensado and Herb Trawick of “Pensado’s Place,” Stewart Copeland, Ken Caillat, Carmen Rizzo and Cookie Marenco. Cuing up the NAMM TEC Awards, The H.O.T. Zone will also host the first-ever “TEC Summit,” an all-day program featuring a preview and demos of TEC-nominated pro audio gear; star-studded panel discussions on recording, mixing and producing; and the “TECnology Hall of Fame” session.
